Interactive Website tracking Burglaries and B&E's to Motor Vehicles

I'd like to see a website where Police Agencies are able to inform people and share information with neighboring departments about Burglaries and B&E's to vehicles. Many times, Departments are not able to see the big picture because criminals don't always pay attention to City borders. It would be helpful to show citizens where these crimes are taking place and have a way for them to report suspicious activity to the Police.

jQuery is powerful

I was impressed with the number of things that jQuery is able to do. It would save someone a ton of work and allow a small business to have a big business looking website. It was easy to use and the tutorial made it easy to follow along.

I definitely recommend heading to jQuery for any of your website design needs.

Midterm is Done

I completed the Midterm for this course today. It was an interesting way to test someone's knowledge. We had to create a webpage and answer certain questions, kind of like a scavenger hunt.

I almost published a link to my midterm to show what it looked like, but then I realized some people are still working on it.

Good luck to everyone still finishing up.

Cop Out

I don't get to see very many recent releases, but I recently saw Cop Out starring Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan. Kevin Smith, of the Jay and Silent Bob franchise-fame, directed this latest iteration of a buddy-cop movie. I was in a grouchy mood when the movie started and have to admit that I was in tears within the first 5 minutes of the movie. I don't usually recommend movies, but this one gets a thumbs up from me.

Enjoy with popcorn and a beer!

Embedding Images in a blog post

Here is a photo that fascinates me. It is Pat Tillman, former NFL safety for the Arizona Cardinals. Pat arrived at training camp on this bicycle instead of showing up in a limo or flashy sports car. He was a man that should be emulated by our youth.

Funniest video I've seen this week

I love this video from the Amazing Race. It features a woman shooting watermelons from a giant catapult device and the thing backfires on her. She gets hammered by a watermelon right in the face.

I had to watch it 8-9 times. It brought tears to my eyes. Enjoy!!!

The effect of the Internet on Media

News has become virtually instant thanks to modern technology. The Internet has enabled someone to follow a sporting event on the other side of the world. 15 years ago, climbers on Mt Everest would send faxes to family and friends via satellite phones. Today, they can broadcast from a webcam uploaded by satellite technology. They can post blogs to instantly update friends and family thousands of miles away. What used to take days or weeks for information to be disseminated, has now become available as fast as someone can type.

Patriots have no defense

It's starting to look like the New England Patriots will be involved in shootout style football this year. The offense will need to score more than 30 points in every game because I don't feel as though the Patriots' defense is capable of stopping any team. The have been pushed off the line of scrimmage on run plays and had wide receivers run by the secondary on pass plays.

The Patriots travel to Miami next Sunday and will learn what a real defense looks like. I love the Pats, but it's hard for me to believe that they are a complete team.

Football on Sunday

After a long off season, I was glad to have football on Sunday again.  The morning started out on a great note.  My son had his first Pop Warner football game.  He was on the losing end of a 14-13 game, but it was great experience for everyone.  We hope to correct a few mistakes and win next weekend.

The Patriots played lights out in the first half of their game on Sunday.  I realize that the game started to get close at the end of the game, but it was mostly garbage time yards and points.  The halftime score of 31-3 says a lot about how I think the Pats will play this year.

Tough game next week against the J-E-T-S!

Here are a few websites that I try to visit regularly:

I am learning to create hyperlinks at the site annunziato.org

I also like to visit the website of the best deer hunting magazine, in my opinion.
